BP is currently seeking candidates for a number of Reservoir Engineer (RE) positions in Alaska. As part of a fully integrated, multi-discipline, thriving subsurface team, the Reservoir Engineer will use state-of-the-art tools, methodologies and technologies to work on base reservoir management and/or reservoir development planning. This could include infill drilling, wellwork, satellite developments and new developments. Classic RE skills and competencies are required and some simulation experience is needed. Working within a subsurface team and general contribution across delivery teams, the RE will deliver an optimal managed reservoir to increase asset value. A successful candidate would be involved in one or more of the following: - Depletion planning and reservoir management in producing assets - Portfolio management, - Identification, assessment, and planning of infill drilling or sidetrack opportunities - Well operations - New field developments
This position provides a great opportunity to engineers with 5+ years of strong reservoir engineering skills, experience in active development drilling and well workover programs. The position provides an opportunity to contribute to managing a large scale field and balancing waterflood and gas cap drive reservoir mechanisms in service to maximize oil recovery.
The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team as a reservoir engineer to help manage the base reservoir performance and identify & develop infill drilling opportunities. The primary goal is to maximize oil production & ultimate recovery while minimizing costs and managing risks.

Requirements |
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer. - A minimum of 3-5 years experience in reservoir management. - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. - Significant exposure to reservoir management of large oil fields and/or gas fields. - Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline. - Fundamental understanding of economic analysis skills. - Prior experience working with an operating company. - Strong, in-depth understanding of reservoir engineering processes and mechanisms with experience in reserves estimation and well test evaluation. - Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). - Able to prioritize work in a high activity environment - Effective communication and influencing skills (oral presentations, written correspondence, informal discussions) - Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, BrioQuery).
